We have declared Chinese New Year as students in Melbourne a very sad affair. We don't get the whole CNY atmosphere, yeah well, I went to Springvale the other day and nearly killed a little girl whose dad let her run around the car park while I was reversing my car into the lot. We don't get new clothes. We don't get ang pows. We can't exactly afford the CNY goodies cos the price is like ridiculously high. I have not tasted a piece of bak kwa in like ages and ages. You don't go house visiting. Actually, all we did on the first day of CNY was to go to church as per normal, then I came home and collapsed. I spent my day in church baby-sitting 5 6-year-olds. Boy was it a challenge!

Oh, last night was also thhe finals of the Australia Cup. The Men's Finals. Federer won. Yuka wanted Marcos to win. I sort of agree with her. That would have been more interesting. It's like Makybe Diva winning the Melbourne Cup. You know they are just so good, and they are really really likely to win, but yet at the same time, you want to root for the underdog. Well, but Federer will still be playing more games, unlike Makybe. Makybe has been retired from racing. BTW, Makybe Diva's a horse for all my non-Australian friends, :) She's really pretty too.

It's a cloudy day out there today. Such a change from the sizzling heat we've been having. The Melbourne heat is terrible as it is dry and scroching. Apparently it is this bad during January. I think I won't stay here another January. I will probably go back to Singapore next year. The heat is too much to bear.

School starts in 7 days. My last week of holidays.
